What is a Wreck Wrap?
A Wreck Wrap is a self-adhesive weather barrier plastic film. It seals out rain, dirt and snow. Vehicles involved in collisions which require protection from the weather due to damaged or removed windows and doors can be temporarily sealed with Wreck Wrap. Each roll is continuous, with medium tack adhesive on one side. The plastic is specially treated to resist sunlight damage for up to 90 days. When removed the adhesive comes off clean with the plastic. It does not transfer to the vehicle body. Wreck Wrap is a low density polyethylene which will actually begin to soften at 160˚ F. but will retain its’ form and can withstand cold down to -20˚ F. In the event that Wreck Wrap is left on the vehicle longer than the recommended length of time some residue may be left on the vehicle. Rubbing or Isopropyl Alcohol or Citrus based cleaners can remove this residue. Other names for Wreck Wrap include: Crash Wrap and Collision Wrap.
